The Story of Angel on the Way

Hi,

Thank you for being here, I'm Lisa J. Smith, founder of Angel on the Way. This all started several years ago in 2011 when my dad was diagnosed with stage 4, Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

One Sunday morning, when my dad was really sick, I needed to get my mom out of the house for a minute. We walked down to the local farmers market for a quick visit and some fresh air.

While there, I found a little angel at one of the stands.  I knew I had to buy it for my dad (in hindsight, maybe it was for us too).  The funny thing is, any one who knows my dad, knows that he's not  into angels or anything of the sort. When I got home, I told him it was a "healing angel" and he needed to have it.  For some reason he actually took to the angel and kept it by his bed side table.

Thankfully, his cancer went into remission and he was doing great.  Unfortunately, a few years later, his cancer came back again, this time with a vengeance. It was even more aggressive than the first time. He needed a stem cell transplant. That meant 30 days in a hospital and he was in for a fight.

As we like to do for our loved ones when they're sick (or in the hospital), we want to do something that will help them. Balloons, food, stuffed animals, flowers, etc., none of it seemed appropriate, let alone anything that he wanted. Food just made him sick. Flowers were not allowed in his room. The last thing I was going to do was bring him balloons to "cheer him up".  This was not a cheer me up kind of situation. He was hurting, sick, scared and locked in a hospital room for 30 days alone.

So, I went back to where it all started and brought him the, "healing angel" from his nightstand at home.  I wanted him to have something as a symbol of love, family, strength, faith, healing and hope. I knew he needed something as a reminder that he would be looked out for and to remember that even if we could not be there with him, we were still there in spirit and he was truly not alone in that room.

Today, thank goodness he's been in remission since 2016 and is doing great.  My dad is the strongest person I know and he has always been my hero.  Everyday we have each other is another day to be grateful. Today, the healing angel still sits in their room looking out after both my parents.

So here we are!!!  I have felt guided, and nudged, for years to start Angel on the Way.

More than ever, we need to spread good thoughts, celebrate each other, help others to find a little healing and spread love and gratitude when we can.  I don't know anyone who can't use an angel in their life for one reason or another. Whether to celebrate good things or as a little extra love when we all need it the most.  Angle on the Way is for all of us.  Any age, gender, race, belief or reason for sending one.

Angel on the Way is an easy process for you. We will get it there fast and you can add a personalized message as a thoughtful way of letting someone know you're thinking of them.  It's something they will have forever as a symbol of encouragement, strength and even thier special days too!

The angel will bring joy and peace to those who receive one. With the intention of love and kindness, we can change the world, one person at a time. That means also being good to ourselves so that we can spread good things back to others.  Send an angel to everyone you know. Share with them with your friends, family, co workers and even your neighbors. Be sure to get one for yourself too.  After all, self love is everything.

Every order includes a 1" pocket angel.  They can easily take it with them or pay it forward and give it to someone who may need a little angel in their life too.

Angel on the Way thanks you for being here and for supporting each other in all of life's journeys.

Let's continue to spread kindness on the wings of an angel.

Be well,

Lisa J. and the gang

In 2023, we celebrated my dad's 80th birthday.
